This position has been designated as On -Site working out of our Trane La Crosse Lab 5-days per week.
Job Summary.
Trane Technologies has an exciting opportunity for an onsite position in our Engineering Test Laboratory (Lab) in La Crosse, Wisconsin as an Instrumentation/ MetrologyTechnician II.
This position provides technical support to advance measurement capability and data quality, for the NA Commercial HVAC Laboratories.
As part of the Laboratory Instrument and Metrology Services (IMS) Team, you will work closely with all other Lab Teams to fully comply with all UL and ISO regulatory agencies.
The job requires problem solving, troubleshooting, and collaboration with other lab and engineering team members to ensure timely completion of projects.
This position is salaried non-exempt.
Core Job Responsibilities (others may be added).
Work safely and maintain a safe work area in accordance with company policies and procedures Install, monitor, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair various types of electronic, pneumatic, and mechanical instrumentation Apply knowledge of measurement science, mathematics, physics, and electronics to calibrate devices in the electrical, electronic, dimensional, physical, mechanical, and/or environmental disciplines to ensure measurement accuracy Identify and utilize appropriate measurement procedures and technical manuals Provide technical assistance on instrumentation related issues to customers and team members Work closely with customers to coordinate and execute periodic maintenance and calibration Minimum Qualifications.
Associate's Degree in HVAC, Electromechanical, Electronics or related discipline from an accredited school and at least 5+ years work experience in related field is required.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook) required.
A working knowledge of measurement and control equipment (electrical, electronic, and pneumatic), data acquisition, and communications Experience with ISO & ANSI/NCLS Z540 preferred  Key Competencies.
Ability to understand and follow current work instructions and applicable test standards Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of complex variables in situations where only limited standardization exists Strong verbal and written communication skills in order to listen and speak effectively before groups of customers or employees in the organization Ability to multitask while working efficiently in a fast-paced team environment Self-motivated, detail-oriented, with organizational skills, able to build cross-functional partnership while understanding the importance of putting the customer first Equal Employment Opportunity.
