Let's go! Your mission As the Director of Experience Design at Bitpanda, you will lead a dynamic, international and multi-disciplinary design organisation that drives impact at scale across all our products - from core investing and advanced trading platforms to Web3 and beyond.
You will play a central role in making investing accessible, intuitive, and empowering for everyone.
Your mission is to direct our strategic design vision for the premium investment platform of the future, and foster a culture of excellence, creativity, and inclusion.
You'll be accountable for driving user-centered experiences, aligning our design strategy with company goals, and ensuring quality, speed, and consistency across every product surface.
In this senior leadership role, you'll work across domains, influence product and business strategy, and represent design at the executive level.
You'll lead organisational design for XD, grow leaders and ICs across disciplines, and set the tone for quality, speed, and process in how we design products at scale.
Above all, you'll champion clarity, simplicity, and customer empathy in everything we build - helping Bitpanda become the most intuitive and trusted investment platform in Europe.
What you'll do • Lead our Experience Design organization - a high-performing, cross-functional team of design managers, product designers, researchers, and content strategists, driving hiring, org design, career development, and a strong culture of craft, feedback, and inclusion.
• Define and own the end-to-end experience design strategy across all Bitpanda products - from trading to Web3 and advanced platforms - aligning it with company goals and translating it into clear, measurable team objectives.
• Ensure high-quality execution and scalable design operations by evolving processes and best practices across product design, content, research, and motion, while holding teams accountable for timely delivery and establishing necessary team resources.
• Partner closely with senior leaders in Product, Engineering, Commercial, and Legal to shape strategic decisions, influence product roadmaps, and drive consistent, user-centred decisions across the organisation.
• Represent design in executive-level conversations, advocate for user needs, strengthen design maturity company-wide, and elevate Bitpanda's internal and external voice on design and experience.
Who you are • A senior design leader with 10+ years of experience in product design and 3+ years managing managers or large-scale teams.
• Skilled at leading in complex, high-scale, fast-paced FinTech, Investing, Trading or Banking environments.
• A strategic systems thinker who connects business goals with strong design outcomes and user-centred experiences.
• Experienced in scaling high-performing teams, driving org-level planning, and building a strong culture of clarity, feedback, and growth.
• An excellent communicator and collaborator who thrives on ownership, curiosity, and making a real impact through design.
