IMDEA Materials Institute is a public research organization founded in by Madrid’s regional government to carry out research of excellence in Material Science and Engineering by attracting talent from all over the world to work in an international and multidisciplinary environment.
IMDEA Materials has grown rapidly since its foundation and currently includes more than 120 researchers from 22 nationalities and has become one of the leading research centers in materials in Europe which has received the María de Maeztu seal of excellence from the Spanish government.
The research activities have been focused on the areas of materials for transport, energy, and health care and the Institute has state-of-the-art facilities for processing, characterization and simulation of advanced materials.

Description The Community of Madrid is an international technology hub in the aerospace sector, specifically in structural composites used for lightweight applications.
The base material for manufacturing such structures is carbon fibre pre-impregnated with a polymer resin.
The intelligent manufacture of raw pre-impregnated materials is the basis of the proposed industrial doctorate.
The aim is to conduct research related to the development and correlation at the pilot plant level of predictive models based on artificial intelligence to ensure the final quality of the prepreg material.
The predictive models will receive information from the sensorisation of the manufacturing process, relating them to the final properties expected in physico-chemical characterisation tests.
The industrial doctorates of the Community of Madrid offer an excellent opportunity to work in a mixed academic/entrepreneurial environment.
Requirements Candidates are sought for the call for Industrial Doctorates of the Community of Madrid and must provide.
Engineering education at master's level at the moment of receiving the fellowship (Mechanical engineering, materials science, data science) Knowledge of mechanics and material science Knowledge of machine learning and Python programming Conditions Conditioned to sucess of the Industrial Doctorate call Contracting conditions according to the Industrial Doctorate call Enrolement in academic PhD Program Applications are processed upon reception.
