We are looking for recent graduates from different disciplines interested in developing their professional career in the aeronautical sector.The current context demands different ways of looking, thinking and relating.

What does this internship consists in?

Together with Camilo José Cela University, Airbus has developed an exclusive program (#DISCOVER) designed for those interested in the best training in new areas of knowledge essential to be able to develop as professionals of the future.

You will have the opportunity to study a Master, organized in three training blocks, that will allow you to DISCOVER the skills most in demand today. It will be combined with an 11 month internship at Airbus in an area related to your degree, where you can learn and complete your academic background.

The start of the internship will be in early October 2025, and will last 11 months (August disabled for all purposes). It is a full-time experience (40h/week), in which you will receive an attractive study grant.

Internship Job Description:

- Tasks to be carried out by the student
- Assist in data engineering tasks, focusing on building and maintaining data pipelines and infrastructure
- Contribute to ensuring the quality and reliability of our data architecture within a cloud environment
- Assist in the evaluation of the potential migration of specific data components from Microsoft Azure to a different cloud solution
- Participate in the creation, organization, management, and improvement of internal documentation for our data products and services. This includes understanding current data flows and technical specifications
- Investigate and propose automation mechanisms for data workflows and deployments
- Conduct comparative analyses of data technologies and services available on both Azure and other Cloud solutions to identify potential benefits and challenges of a multi-cloud approach
- Collaborate in understanding Airbuss data governance processes and contribute to our teams better integration with these standards
- Support the team in monitoring and troubleshooting data pipelines and infrastructure
- Participate in the implementation of best practices for data security and compliance within cloud environments, in compliance with Airbus standards

- Knowledge to be acquired by the student
- Practical experience in data engineering principles and methodologies within a cloud environment (primarily Microsoft Azure)
- Exposure to and understanding of Amazon Web Services (AWS) and the concepts of multi-cloud architectures.
- Skills in creating and managing technical documentation for data products and services
- Understanding of data workflow automation techniques and tools
- Ability to compare and contrast different data technologies and services across cloud platforms
- Familiarity with data governance frameworks and their practical application in a large organization like Airbus
- Enhanced skills in monitoring and troubleshooting data infrastructure
- Introduction to best practices in data security and compliance in cloud environments

- Within which projects or areas the internship will be carried out
- The internship will be primarily within the Data Engineering team, focusing on projects related to optimizing our data infrastructure on Microsoft Azure, exploring potential migrations to AWS, improving internal documentation for data products, and investigating automation possibilities within a multi-cloud context. The student will also be involved in understanding and aligning with Airbuss data governance processes.

As a successful candidate, you will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.

English: fluent

Spanish: minimum level B1

Transversal Soft Skills

- Good team player, who likes working in a collaborative environment at all levels in the company
- Excellent analytical skills, including communication and presentation competences
- Written and verbal communication skills, including the delivery of presentations to Airbus stakeholders
- Proactive attitude and a keen interest in data engineering and cloud technologies
- Ability to learn and grow in an evolving environment
- Able to work autonomously as well as in international teams

Specific skills
- Experience on Python/PySpark, Java, Scala, SQL
- Knowledge of cloud computing platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure
- Exposure to Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a significant plus
- Basic understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL/ELT processes
- Familiarity with streaming architectures and technologies (e.g., Kafka, Azure Event Hubs, AWS Kinesis) is desirable
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git)
- Exposure to infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) is a plus
