BIOINFORMATICIAN

The Endocrinology and Obesity group led by Dr.
Manel Puig Domingo at IGTP is seeking atalented and motivated Bioinformatician with previous experience in high-throughput datamanaging and analysis to participate in the project “ACROMICS.
next-generation precisionmedicine in the diagnosis and treatment of Acromegaly”, with file PMP, funded by theInstituto de Salud Carlos III.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES The main objective of the project is to analyse Spatial Transcriptomics data fromacromegaly-causing tumours.
Moreover, the candidate will actively participate in theresearch by performing data analysis.
She/he will integrate multiomics data(transcriptomic, spatial transcriptomic, genomic, epignenomic) and clinical data todevelop predictive models of treatment response using state-of-the-art data miningtechniques, machine learning algorithms and statistics.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCIE BSc degree in Bioinformatics or equivalent; or BSc in informatics, computer science, computational biology or similar, with biology or genetics knowledge.
Knowledge of statistical modelling or machine learning.
Elastastic, GNN and LLM will be considered a plus.
Experience in biomedical databases management.
Knowledge/experience in next-generation sequencing data processing and analysis.
Bioinformatics Tools & Frameworks.
BLAST, Clustal, Bioconductor, NGS pipelines.
Familiar with raw sequencing and illumine array data (FASTQ, IDATS) as well as other common formats (SAM/BAM, BED, etc.), command-line tools (bwa, samtools, bedtools, etc.) and biological databases.
Previously experience in Spatial Transcriptomics data analysis will be considered a plus.
Programming Languages.
Python, R, SQL, Bash.
C and C++ will be considered a plus.
Scientific writing and interdisciplinary research experience.
Fluent English.
Motivated person, responsible, with organizational skills and excellent attention to detail.
Strong teamwork and project collaboration in biomedical contexts.

4 TH of August Gross annual remuneration inherent to the square objected to this call, will be fixed based on the experience provided and the skills of the candidate, distributed in 12 payments.
