Job Description

For a project with our client, one of Spains leading banks, we are looking for a Backend Developer to join our dynamic technology team. We seek a highly motivated professional with expertise in Spark, Scala, and Azure Databricks, along with knowledge of PL/SQL. The ideal candidate will contribute to the development and optimization of robust banking solutions within a microservices architecture.

What would you be doing?
- Design and implement scalable backend services using Spark and Scala.
- Develop and optimize Azure Databricks solutions to support data-driven applications.
- Work on PL/SQL development, ensuring efficient database interactions.
- Participate in end-to-end software delivery, including design, development, unit testing, deployments, and UAT support.
- Ensure code security and quality using tools such as SonarQube and Fortify, and proactively resolve any detected vulnerabilities.
- Write and maintain unit and integration tests using JUnit, Jasmine, or Karma.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement scalable solutions within a microservices ecosystem.
- Actively participate in Agile development processes (Scrum or Kanban) to ensure iterative delivery and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to the design and documentation of technical solutions.

Qualifications

What are we looking for?
- 2+ years of experience as a backend developer working with Spark.
- 2+ years of experience developing backend solutions with Scala.
- 2+ years of experience in software delivery, covering design, development, testing, deployments, and UAT support.
- Advanced knowledge of Azure Databricks.
- Strong experience with PL/SQL for database interactions.
- Experience using SonarQube and/or Fortify for security analysis and code quality.
- Hands-on experience in writing and executing unit and integration tests (JUnit, Jasmine, Karma).
- Experience working within Agile frameworks (Scrum or Kanban).
