ASSISTANT MANAGER - EHS

Assistant Manager – EHS is responsible for the support and development of programs and processes with respect to health, safety, and environmental policy development, training and Execution / Implementation of SHE Initiatives.
Coordinates with Operations Managers, vendors, customers and the general workforce to insure adherence to BorgWarner World Class Safety standards Develops programs and procedures to reduce occupational and non-occupational accident/injury/illness experiences.
Promotes proactive health and safety awareness throughout the organization though effective employee communications, participation, and programs.
Ensures compliance of all processes meets ISO and BW Safety standards.
Coordinate with Teams in Safety inspections, ergonomic risk assessments, job hazard analysis, Environmental Management systems and Global Star Safety Framework, which will permit a high degree of employee involvement.
Ensures plant management teams understand the inter-relationship between on-and-off-the-job safety, occupational and non-occupational health.
Work with Government agencies to have approved license for Pollution air & water, Hazardous waste, Fire compliance.
Ensure an effective and participatory ergonomic culture is developed, maintained, and practiced.
Identifies, evaluates, manages, and minimizes potential environmental risks of the plant.
Coordinates incident investigations including root cause analysis, corrective actions and preventive actions.
Ensures environmental compliance understood and accepted as a high priority by the CFT.
Develops and conducts training programs on industrial safety, industrial hygiene, emergency response / planning, government regulations, hazardous materials, and other related issues.
Ensures that fire protection and security systems are in place and effective and that all facility personnel are sufficiently trained to respond to emergencies of various nature.
Coordinates incident investigation and ensures implementation of Corrective and preventive actions on time.
Monitoring the operations of Effluent & Sewage Treatment plants as well as Fire Protection Systems.
Should be competent in ISO requirements for establishing, implementing, maintaining and improving an energy management system and follow a systematic approach in achieving continual improvement of energy performance, including energy efficiency, energy use and consumption Should be the coordinator for GSSF Element improvements and should ensure conduction of Periodical Safety Meetings and completion of observations on time.
Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
