Most recent recent experience

September 2021- now - I started doing my part-time academy job again, this time teaching pre-teens, teens and adults at levels A2-C1. Two of the classes were preparation for the C1 exam. I am now preparing a group for the B2 exam. In addition, this month my general English online classes with my three adult students at levels A2 to C1 have restarted, as well as my three 1-t-1 online company classes again at levels A2 to C2. Their classes are a mixture of Business and general English.

September 2018 to July 2021 - In October 2018 I started having class again with my 2 B2-C1 students at JP Morgan (C1-preparation class/business English) and with my C1 private student (C1-preparation class too). I also taught two groups of civilians and soldiers at INVIED at levels A2-B1 on Monday and Wednesday lunchtimes until December 2019. All those classes have stopped, as the companies´ budgets for training ran out. On the other hand, from March to September 2019 I did a part-time academy job substitution teaching pre-school/primary kids, pre-teens and teens at levels A1-B2. During July 2019 I did a one-week intensive with three teenagers who were sitting the B2 exam that month, which they passed, and a one-week summer course with children aged 6-8 for the same academy. As well as that, in October 2019 I started teaching two judges at the Tribunal Supremo at level B2. Those classes stopped last February due to the pandemic. In addition, I started teaching in-company classes adding up to 15 hours per week on 7th January of last year. These classes were face to face to begin with, went online on 9th March due to the coronavirus and finished on 2nd April. However, one of my company classes had some recoup online sessions in June and finished in July 2020. In November 2020 I finished teaching the student I started to prepare for the IELTS exam in February 2021, which he sat/passed in July. We have continued having class. In addition, in June 2020 I began to have online conversation classes with three students at levels A2 to C1, and in September 2019 I started teaching a high-level worker at level B1 at the Ministerio de Administraciones Públicas. Her classes finished in March 2020 due to the pandemic and to her busy schedule.

September 2017 – July 2018 - T/Th part-time academy job (see descriptions below). TO WHOM IT MIGHT CONCERN

Please find attached a copy of my CV. I trust my professional profile makes me a suitable candidate for the post you are looking to fill. Modesty aside, frankly I feel that since becoming a teacher in 1984 I have acquired a great deal of experience through teaching a wide range of people with levels A1 to C2 from many different backgrounds: top secretaries, civil servants, unemployed people, top management, soldiers, top-rank military people, scientists and so on. The classes have been in-school, in-company, on the phone and on Skype. In addition, I have got several students through the TOEFL, the IELTS, the old EvaU exam, levels 1 & 2 of the London Chamber of Commerce exams, level 2 of the NATO exam and the B1, B2, C1 and C2 exams. As a result of all this my career has proved to be very satisfying, motivating and interesting and has also taught me to be professional: meet deadlines, be punctual, dress appropriately, customise my classes, meet teaching objectives, submit paperwork on time and so forth.

On the other hand, I would like to highlight the fact I grew up speaking both English and Spanish at home because my father was English and my mother was Venezuelan. I also spoke English at the English boarding schools and bilingual day schools I attended throughout my childhood and teenage years in Venezuela and abroad whilst travelling with my mother as a result of her being a diplomat. Please do not hesitate to arrange for us to meet, talk on Skype or on the phone so you can confirm that despite not being English by birth I am in fact a native speaker. On the other hand, I believe over the years knowing Spanish well has given me a very useful insight into my students´ possible learning difficulties.

Finally, thank you for reading this letter. I look forward to hearing from you in the near future.

                                                                   Yours Faithfully,

                                                                            Isabel Sanson
