To uphold the Urban Outfitters “Peers Teaching Peers” philosophy.\r\n\r\nDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\r\n\r\nPeople:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tStrategically recruit, train and develop managers to increase the day to day productive of the business\r\n\tDevelop Assistant Store Manager and high-level Department Managers to support succession planning for the future growth of the business\r\n\tManage all aspects of people development (Performance Appraisals, Individual Development Plans, Coaching and Counseling and Disciplinary actions) for a productive and successful workforce\r\n\tUphold Company standards and act as strong leader to the team\r\n\r\n\r\nLeadership and Communication:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tEmpower management to conduct and execute productive daily and department meetings by ensuring there is a comprehensive structure in place i.e. agenda\r\n\tModel the way for the store team and inspires a shared vision\r\n\tResponsible for the roll-out of new training and operational initiatives\r\n\tPossess excellent communication skills in both written and verbal form\r\n\r\n\r\nManaging the Environment:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tCoach management to take the initiative as leaders to oversee all levels of customer service and set daily goals and expectations to create a positive store environment\r\n\tExhibit excellent floor presence by training and coaching the store team on customer service, standards, product placement and time management\r\n\tAchieve Company-average mystery shop results by guiding the team to uphold the Company’s customer service standard\r\n\r\n\r\nOperations:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tConduct walkthroughs with the Visual Merchandising Manager and Department Managers on a regular basis with constructive feedback and obtainable goals\r\n\tLead the team to perform all store-level operational procedures accurately and in a timely fashion, in accordance with all Company policies and procedures\r\n\tAchieve the store stock loss goals by training loss prevention awareness and overseeing adherence to loss prevention practices\r\n\tDevelop and implement a functional shipment processing system to ensure that merchandise is placed promptly and the sales floor is fully stocked\r\n\tPossess excellent organisational skills and have the ability to plan, organise and execute projects by priority\r\n\tAssume total accountability for store Health & Safety by overseeing and upholding Company Health & Safety procedures at all times in order to protect employees and customers against accidents and incidents\r\n\r\n\r\nMerchandising and Display:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tIn conjunction with the Visual Merchandising Manager and Display Artist, facilitate a working relationship between the management and visual teams in order to enhance the store environment and efficiently execute all merchandising projects\r\n\tCoach management to understand and interpret current fashion trends in local markets in order to generate creative solutions\r\n\tWork with the Visual Merchandising Manager, Display Artist and management team to ensure floor sets are well organised, schedules appropriately, cleanly executed and completed timely\r\n\r\n\r\nCommercial Awareness:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tLead the team to maximise store sales through analytical and creative management of merchandise from receipt to sales\r\n\tAssume total accountability for the store’s profitability and guide the management team to utilise Company reports to react to trends and drive business\r\n\tStay abreast of current trends and have a sound knowledge of customer profile by keeping up to date with external influences i.e. media and local community\r\n\tManage stock levels appropriately (taking into consideration the store environment) through the understanding of relevant reports and market trends\r\n\tDemonstrate entrepreneurial skills to achieve and exceed store targets\r\n\r\n\r\nREQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE\r\n\r\n\r\n\tExperience in a senior management role working in a fast paced, high volume fashion retail environment\r\n\tUpholding excellent VIBE and a service-orientated culture\r\n\tAbility to positively impact statistical results in sales, payroll and stock loss\r\n\tProven record of developing talented individuals at Department Manager level\r\n\tCan demonstrate
