Oct Job Purpose The purpose of this role is to act as a supply chain lead within a key market to drive excellence in (as appropriate) - demand forecasting, warehousing distribution and customer service.
You will be responsible for ensuring the requirements of the market relating to product supply are understood and managed appropriately by the central planning, in additional the role will ensure that any supply issues are understood and managed within the market.
From a strategic lens the lead will need to be able to strongly drive and execute change as we deliver on our Future Ready ambition ensuring excellent deliver from an operational, stakeholder and personnel perspective.
  The impact of the role is critical to the success of the market, you will be required to operate as a key leader and become a valued part of the extended market leadership team, partnering with the general manager on various areas including budget delivery and market supply chain performance.
This role includes the management of external customer relationships with first trade customers and, in some businesses, will extend to developing collaborative relationships with individual wholesalers and retailers.
Furthermore, the role should develop this external focus, driving interactions with said customers particularly in the Logistics space whilst continuing to address future looking topics such as demand sensing and commercial insights gathering.
  As the lead for the supply chain functions that serve the market (demand forecasting, warehousing (as appropriate), distribution and customer services) you will need to display effective leadership to motivate and drive performance through the team whilst also ensuring alignment to central standards, governance for good supply chain practice with alignment to central processes, usage of common tools & systems (eg.
CCC etc) and execution of strategic initiatives.
  Managing a team of direct reports in the day to day operations as well as longer term initiative delivery is also a key part of the role.
Engaging and communicating effectively across direct and indirect reports and stakeholders is expected to ensure tactical and strategic goal delivery.
Driving development and having a continuous improvement mindset are paramount both across the team and for self.
Key Responsibilities ·         Part of extended market leadership team – integrated into both Pharma Supply Chain and Commercial business processes ·         Aware of key market risks and opportunities – responsible for designing and delivering supply chain responses to commercial challenges including but not limited to volume/value forecast ·         Leads Demand Forecasting, Warehousing & Customer service teams & drives capability improvement in alignment with common central standards and Future Ready requirements ·         Key decision maker at Market DRM ·         Drives projects in market in partnership with commercial – e.
improvements to DF capability – sensing, MI etc, CMI, EDI etc ·         Responsible for in-market SC design ·         Accountable for shared KPIs (OTIF, Daily Sales conformance, Customer Metrics/Feedback) ·         Responsible for driving transformational initiatives across market teams and business’ – as appropriate ·         Budgetary responsibility for organisation (OPEX,T&E) + Cost to Serve ·         Collaborates with Supply Chain Planning Managers/Directors in SCIM as needed Previous Experience Required Demonstrated leadership & management skills Demonstrated effective communications skills both written and oral coupled with the ability to tailor to any one of a wide variety of audiences in both English and Spanish Demonstrated ability to influence and partner with senior stakeholder groups (up to SVP level) Supply chain understanding – supply planning, demand planning, warehousing or customer service experience essential Regional understanding – experience of working with commercial sales and marketing teams particularly in a pharma or other highly regulated environment would be advantageous High levels of personal energy and self motivator with an ability to energize others A focus on output, content and delivery Strong analytical skills An ability to map out and understand complex highly interdependent issues Project management and delivery skills Requires the ability to translate business issues / strategies into organizational responses, for examples if the commercial organization change the commercial model it is expected that the market supply chain lead is able to formulate an organizational response to respond to this in collaboration with central functions Will require leadership of an organization (customer services) which interacts significantly with the external trade customers, as such there is a significant likelihood of compliance, commercial, relationship and finance challenges Interaction will include a wide variety of stakeholders within GSK up to and including SVP level, the Market Supply Chain Lead will need to be able to influence at several levels above and across.
They will need to be demanding of performance from other areas and be able to hold their peer groups to account They will also have a role externally with GSK’s customers and may include representing GSK’s service performance, input into contracting process and regulatory / compliance interactions with agencies.
They will need to form a collaborative relationship with the commercial organization in the market/cluster and gain credibility as part of the extended market leadership team Large potential impact to the business as will be directly accountable for the team that maintains £300m+ demand replenishment signal, including how it is translated in the smoothest possible way back into the supply organization.
The role has a direct operational accountability in the Order to cash process through the leadership of the customer service teams – this has the potential to greatly influence GSK’s trade receivables and is a critical part of the cash flow cycle.
