Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:

• Commercial or Purchasing Degree or Masters.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in the procurement department, if it has been in the plastic industry it would be more valuable.
• Specific experience in sourcing Polypropylene and/or Polyethylene.
• Able to build and maintain effective and productive relationships with staff, stakeholders and suppliers (small companies as well as large companies)
• Good communication, negotiation, interpersonal and influencing skills
• Analytical, numerically astute with strong demonstrated problem-solving abilities
• Able to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks and achieve set targets
• Commercial and financial awareness with a full understanding of how failure impacts the production, manufacture and customer order fulfilment
• Able to work well under pressure and handle emergency and stressful situation
• Successful supplier negotiations and contracts/long-term agreement execution experience.
• Must be a take charge person with a positive, proactive attitude with the ability to perform with minimal supervision.
• Comply with the Health, Safety and Environmental Policies.
• Assertive, resilient and welcomes change.
• Self-motivator, able to work autonomously

The candidate must be fluent in English and have a work knowledge of French.

Description

The principal responsibility areas of this position are the following:

• Elaborate the procurement strategies, source suppliers and lead negotiations for the assigned categories
• Assure purchasing savings (PIP): Identify saving targets, prepare purchasing budgets together with the factories, monitor results
• Manage the supplier relationships for the assigned categories
• Monitor and advise on any issues which present risk or opportunity to the organization
• Collaborate with all required disciplines (product management, engineering, operations, supply chain, and finance) to provide the most favourable pricing, quality, delivery, and relationship management (vendor) to meet company goals and objectives.
• Source and evaluate potential suppliers
• Provide analysis on costs, quality and innovation
• Prepare and report Relevant KPI to the management
• Define and update on a regular basis the cost improvement list of opportunities
• Define and implement Purchasing Procedures
• Crisis management & support local teams in case of absence, audits, …
• Actively engage with purchasing peers of the local sites
