Fortescue Future Industries are currently embarking on becoming global pioneers of a worldwide portfolio of green hydrogen, hydropower, geothermal, wind and solar resources, with projects in the regions of North America, South America, Asia Pacific, Africa, Middle East, Central Asia, Europe, and UK.FFI is commencing Front End Engineering Design on a green ammonia project located in Norway. Engineering will be performed by a leading EPC based in Madrid and FFI are searching for suitably skilled, experienced and motivated project engineers to lead and support the Contractor engineering packages. We are looking for appropriately qualified candidates who demonstrate the FFI values and who can manage change with agility, are resilient, can work independently and as part of a team and strive to constantly improve. The role of the project engineer will be to be part of a small Client team, embedded within the EPC offices to ensure successful delivery of the FEED of the green ammonia project. This successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual who can drive outcomes, communicate with stakeholders at all levels and show initiative to solve complex problems. Key accountabilities: Drive the technical solution for the project, in collaboration with engineering partners to maximise project value Ensuring all works are completed safely and adhere to FFI Vision and Values, Developing and executing single packages or more complex Scopes of Work, Managing, tracking and reporting in the management of project budget and schedule, Supporting and engage with multiple stakeholders to obtain technical, commercial and schedule information, Responsible for supporting development of management level reporting. Develop and review for compliance detailed scopes of work, control formal reviews and approvals, Support the development team in weekly project meetings, produce minutes, action and decisions register, Responsible for monitoring and controlling development of deliverables in conjunction with the Senior Project Engineer and Project Manager to ensure mitigation of schedule slippage, scope creep or cost over runs, Develop and maintain project registers and trackers to include, but not limited to project action list, deliverables, risk, issues and key decisions, Responsible to review, approve (within delegated limits) and maintain project deliverables and documentation, Actively participate in key reviews and workshops including design reviews, HAZID, HAZOPs etc. Responsible to support budget development, approval and Business Case finalisation per Project Management framework. Qualifications and Skills: Engineering Degree or similar. Process or mechanical background preferred, 8+ years Project Engineering experience, Experience working for both owner / operators and engineering contractors Experience across project phases from FEED / feasibility through to construction and commissioning. Experience with design and construction of petrochemical / chemical plants within Europe Outstanding organisational and time management skills, Demonstrated technical and project management skills in multi-disciplinary projects, Fluent English language. Proficiency in Spanish preferred Excellent computer literacy including Microsoft Office suite, predominately in Word and Excel. Preferred:Experience in chemical, power generation or oil and gas processingExperience at FEED level engineeringHas worked on client / operator teamsCandidates must be authorised to work in the EU and bring a flexible mindset, challenge traditional thinking, and be prepared to work outside of their comfort zone.
