Description A Research Assistant position to work with the Multiscale Materials Modeling and the Physical Simulation Groups at IMDEA Materials Institute is seek.
The researcher will work on developing constitutive models for the mechanical response of different steels fabricated by additive manufacturing.
Funding for this position will come from IRIDISCENTE, a competitive research project funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science and The tasks to be developed will be mainly numerical, using state-of-the-art tools as crystal plasticity and homogenization based on Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) solvers or Finite Elements, but will require a good background in materials science, specifically on steels.
he researcher will be enrolled in a PhD program and carry out his/her PhD dissertation while working at IMDEA.

Requirements Candidates should have strong analytical skills and hold a MSc ideally in Material Science or Mechanical Engineering, but also candidates with MsC in Physics will be considered.
An excellent academic record will be required.
Additionally, successful candidates are expected to be fluent in spoken and written English and have programming experience in Python or Fortran/C++.
