OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE (O&M) ENGINEER

The O&M Engineer for Floating Offshore Wind is tasked with supporting the operation and maintenance activities specific to Saitec's floating 2MW offshore wind prototype, DemoSATH. This pivotal role contributes to ensuring the efficient operation, maximizing safety, and enhancing the durability of our cutting-edge offshore wind asset, with a particular focus on the innovative floating SATH technology employed by DemoSATH.Key Responsibilities:Support in Asset Management: Assist in overseeing the DemoSATH project's operation to ensure consistent, efficient power production. Contribute to the project's optimal performance by helping minimize downtime and enhance reliability.Maintenance Support: Participate in developing and implementing comprehensive maintenance strategies tailored to the floating prototype's unique needs, following best practices, manufacturers' recommendations, and regulatory guidelines. This includes engaging in routine preventive maintenance and aiding in unscheduled repairs.Team Collaboration: Work alongside a dedicated team of technicians, engineers, and other personnel focused on the DemoSATH project, providing technical support and ensuring a safe and effective working environment.Safety Compliance: Uphold strict adherence to safety rules and regulations in all operation and maintenance activities, particularly those unique to the floating offshore environment. Help foster a culture of safety and partake in incident reporting and investigations.Budget Assistance: Contribute to the management of the O&M budget for the DemoSATH project, tracking costs, and identifying potential areas for cost optimization.Vendor Liaison: Assist with coordination between equipment suppliers, contractors, and service providers to ensure the timely and effective delivery of services and materials for the DemoSATH prototype.Maintenance Records and Reporting: Keep detailed records of all maintenance and repair activities on the DemoSATH project. Support the preparation of performance and condition reports for management review and regulatory compliance.Regulatory Compliance Support: Ensure all DemoSATH activities comply with relevant local, state, federal regulations, and industry standards, with a particular focus on the unique aspects of floating offshore wind technology.Continuous Improvement: Stay informed on the latest developments in wind energy and floating technologies. Suggest and implement improvements to optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of the SATH technology.Offshore Visits: Regularly visit the offshore site to monitor the prototype's condition, perform hands-on maintenance tasks, and ensure the execution of operational procedures as planned. This involves being prepared for offshore stays as required by the project's operational demands.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field, with a preference for specialties in renewable energy, mechanical engineering, or electrical engineering.At least 3-5 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, with direct exposure to offshore wind projects.
