Role purpose.
Responsible for the design and implementation of service LAN network capabilities that support reliable and secure hosted and collaborative services across Vodafone, with main focus in.
 the overall High/Low Level Design and working configuration for the network capabilities   establishing the networking environment by designing system configuration, directing system installation, and defining, documenting and enforcing system standards   designing and implementing new solutions and improve resilience of the current environment   maximizing network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages, scheduling upgrades and collaborating with network architects on network optimization   developing and expanding the team’s technical skills and experience   IP connectivity design based on customer demand Key accountabilities and decision ownership  Responsible for High Level and Low Level Design engineering and network design optimization o Drive increased quality of our network end to end  o Provide HLDs, LLDs, define templates, modularize and industrialize configuration items and their implementation  o Design and implement Cyber security measures to reduce the vulnerability of the Service LAN  o Harmonize data centre network environments and services.
Harmonize LAN services, enable seamless access over a converged wired/wireless network to global IT systems  o Deploy the network fit for purpose including understanding of how our services/applications layer will run across the network (capacity, capability, utilisation)  o Implement virtualisation and segregation concepts o Conduct proof of concept (POC)  validation   Responsible for optimal implementation process that delivers ensured quality.
o Optimize the design and implementation costs and to achieve a harmonized & simplified network infrastructure  o Take control over CAPEX budget; forecast, planning, allocation, approval process, administration  o Deployment of the validated solution to its operational environment and deliver training  o Planning of Changes and support of Change Management Process  o Supervision of external supporters and 3rd parties  o Quality assurance in the design and implementation process  o Support, Test & Accept/Audit the deployed solution  o Hand over the accepted solution to Operations and Maintenance  o Manage and control the different existing test environments  o Define necessary test catalogues and test plans  o Document test & QA activities  o Drive knowledge transfer and technical skill development within Network Implementation team   Responsible to ensure a network documentation o Support the state-of-the art network documentation for the implemented solution that is aligned with Cyber Security architecture  o Ensure the quality of the documentation  o Support the data population and accuracy of the Asset- and Change Management - Databases   Responsible to ensure network harmonisation and standardization across the Region / the local market o Harmonize Service LAN network across European environments and services  o Drive network standards across Local markets  o Drive + Support Network innovations as SDN    Collaboration and Teamwork o Alignment with other engineering, implementation, and operations teams in Vodafone  o Development of harmonized solutions within Regions and Cyber Security  o Share expertise with other network teams across Vodafone  Core competencies, knowledge, and experience  Business skills.

o Detailed knowledge in passive network infrastructure  o Designed, developed, and executed System Test documents (Test Strategy, Test setup, Test Report), test case documents  o Expert Knowledge in networks (TCP/IP, Protocols, Structures, Hardware, Security)  o Expert knowledge in Security protocols and measures  o Expert Knowledge in the area of the installation and configuration of network components (Routers, Switches, VPN Gateways, Firewalls, Proxies, Load Balancers and others)  o Expert Knowledge in routing protocols, VOIP technology, WLAN technology, DHCP, DNS, AD  o Deep knowledge of IP networks security systems, with experience on the engineering and management of Firewalls, IDS/IPS, and contentfiltering platforms.
o Expert Knowledge in network management and network analysis  o Excellent knowledge on the following network nodes and vendors.
 Cisco Router/Switches (Nexus, iOS, Catalyst)  FortiNet (FortiGate, FortiAnalyzer, FortiManager)   Juniper (SRX, EX, MX)   F5 (LTM, GTM/DNS)   Cisco Firewalls/VPN Concentrators (ASA)   Tufin    Must have technical / professional qualifications.
 An academic degree and at least 5 years work experience in an IT organization supporting large heterogeneous IT infrastructures.
 Good experience in project management   R&S CCNA or CCNP certifications strongly recommended.
