The role will act as the intersection between product development and commercial functions. This segment is seen as having the most opportunity for development within the business. Our client is looking for a product expert who can truly tell a story of the brand and product to the customer. Responsibility:The category management team are responsible for managing the standard product offering.The candidate will be responsible for ensuring a relevant product offering. The candidate will be responsible for creating a category development plan whereby the revenue and gross margin of the makeup category will be seen as key KPIs for the next 3 years.The category manager needs to act as a mediator between the product development and the commercial teams with the goal of converting sales opportunities into business. To do so, the candidate must develop a range of added-value packaging solutions and implement go-to-market plans for product launches.To begin with, the position will have 1 direct report, and the internal stakeholder management will be a key aspect of the position. The role will occasionally be customer-facing. The candidate should be comfortable in commercial settings.Profiles required:There is a real importance on the product knowledge of the candidate. They should have a strong understanding both of packaging, but also of makeup formulation.The candidate should be an extroverted person who is ‘passionate’ and creative.
